Should I condition my bag when I first get it?
All of our products are pre-conditioned before getting sent out so there is no need to apply the conditioner once you receive your bag. We recommend conditioning after about a month of use, once the patina process has started.
Why am I seeing scratches on my new Parker Clay product?
Scratches and natural markings are part of the normal aging process of full grain leather. As you use your product they will begin to blend into the bag and create the beautiful aged leather look we love. We recommend using leather conditioner every couple of months to help with the aging process and to keep your product in good condition.
What is our leather dying process?
Our products are dyed using a combination of all-natural organic vegetable dyes, as well as industry standard chrome dyes, with increasing use of all-natural dyes. All of the tanneries we work with are committed to environmentally sustainable practices and the production of leather as a by-product of the livestock industry.
How can I take care of my leather Parker Clay products?
To daily care for your leather goods, make sure to protect them against excessive sunlight, dryness, moisture, and heat. To clean them, we recommend using a gentle leather polish or conditioning product to extend their natural life, color, and characteristics. We sell our own specially formulated leather conditioner here. To minimize damage from spills, wipe the product down as soon as possible with a slightly damp, clean cloth to minimize harsh stain lines. Let the product dry completely, then apply polish or leather conditioner to recondition and re-shine the surface.
Are Parker Clay handbags ethically made?
At Parker Clay, we’re making our stand – our products are made to the highest ethical standards. While it’s great if a bag looks amazing on Instagram, there are bigger issues at hand, and so much more that goes into creating truly sustainable bags. Learn more about our ethically made handbags here.
If stains occur, use a soft pencil eraser, fine grade sandpaper, or a suede brush to clean stains from your purse. Rub at the stain gently with the eraser until the stain clears. Once it clears, rub down the purse with a clean towel or brush. Do not use leather conditioner on suede products.
Our heavy-duty canvas products can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild soap in the case of any spills or damage. Do not machine wash these products, as the leather components on them will be damaged.
Our handspun organic cotton blankets will only get softer with time. Hand or machine wash them as needed in warm water and tumble dry on a low heat setting.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
How long until my item ships?
We will process and package your order within 24 hours during business days (M-F), excluding federal holidays. Expedited shipping is available at your expense at the time of checkout. You will receive a tracking number by email with your shipping confirmation once your package has been shipped.
How long until my package arrives?
Since shipment times vary depending on your location, every shipment is sent out with a tracking link that frequently updates the progress of the delivery. For domestic orders, the typical delivery times are 3 to 5 days, with the option of expedited shipping during checkout. For international orders, please allow for 14 days for delivery. All customs and duties fees are included at check-out. Please note all International orders are FINAL SALE.
My package says it has been delivered but I cannot find it, what can I do?
In these instances, packages have either been delivered to a nearby address or will show up on the following day. We recommend allowing 1-2 days for delivery and then contacting the carrier. Once a package leaves our warehouse, the postal carrier assumes responsibility to ensure that it is delivered timely and accurately. Parker Clay does not assume responsibility for lost or stolen packages.

Do you offer international shipping?
Yes! We offer international shipping options at check-out. You will see all shipping and customs fees at time of check-out, which means no extra costs at the time of delivery.
All international orders will get shipped out within 1-2 business days, shipping times will vary depending on the destination. Please note that due to extra precautions being taken because of Covid-19 there may be extended ship times.
Do you offer In-Store Pickup?
Yes! You can place your order online and come pick it up at our flagship store (133 E Anapamu St. Santa Barbara, CA 93103). If the address you enter at checkout is within 40 miles of our store you will see an "in-store pickup" option at checkout.
Orders will be ready for pickup within 24 hours and you will be notified once they have been fulfilled.
RETURNS / EXCHANGES / REPAIRS
How do I exchange/return my order?
Parker Clay offers free returns and exchanges on any unused, unaltered merchandise within 30 days of the original purchase date. Personalized items and international orders are final sale. Please click here to go to our returns and exchange link for the next step.
Extended Holiday Returns: All orders placed November 1st - December 30th will be eligible for return until January 31st, 2021.
We have a lifetime guarantee on all of our leather products, so just fill out this form and a member of our customer service team will be in touch to coordinate the repair. Note: We do not perform general repairs on non-Parker Clay products.

We want you to shop with confidence knowing our products will stand the test of time, so our promise to you is simple; if any of our items fail to keep up with you over time, we will repair or replace it free of charge.
What’s not covered
Our guarantee does not cover general wear and damage caused by accident or by using the item for other than its intended purpose. This includes the following:
- Animal damage
- Spills or damage from exposure to extreme weather conditions
- Damage caused by mishandling via airline or third party shipping companies
- Extreme wear and third-party alterations made to the item.

What percentage of Parker Clay products go towards bringing women out of trafficking in Ethiopia?
Rather than an exact percentage, we maintain a long-term partnership with the non-profit Ellilta - Women at Risk to provide social and economic empowerment to vulnerable women in Ethiopia. Some of our cotton goods are made by women in the Ellilta program, providing employment and fair wages. Our Co-Founder, Ian, provides pro-bono support to Ellilta’s team in Ethiopia, in addition to regular financial contributions throughout the year.
