Women are the very soul of Parker Clay, and this Mother's Day, we have plenty to celebrate – especially our 48 mom-employees and 5 moms-to-be!
From extended, flexible maternity leave, to family planning courses, we're working to raise the bar for working mothers in Ethiopia. Here's how:
- Host a baby shower to kick off maternity leave
- Offer 4 months fully-paid maternity leave, plus all benefits
- Send our employee relations team to check on new moms and offer support
- Lightened workloads and less-demanding work from the first sign of pregnancy
- Time off for all doctor's visits and check-ups during pregnancy and after

Hi! I'm a Quality Control Officer at Parker Clay. The company supported me on my first journey of becoming a mother, helping me feel safe about my work while on maternity leave. I know from experience that most companies here don't even have maternity leave, and it’s very challenging for mothers to be in the workforce.
But with Parker Clay, I've enjoyed precious time with my newborn son and husband. And another very exciting thing; the founders of Parker Clay even visited me while I was away on maternity leave. I feel very blessed!
I've now finished my maternity leave and I'm very excited to be back. I can’t wait to work with the dream team again and change people’s lives with beautiful leather bags.
