Inflation has been making headlines for months, but it's not just a problem here in the US. In fact, Ethiopians are being hit hard by shortages and high prices on basic goods, like flour and pasta.
Even with above-living wages and subsidized lunches at our on-site cafe, we realized that many employees were still finding it difficult to track down basic ingredients for their families – let alone afford them at extreme markups.
Together, we identified key food commodities and found distributors for each, allowing us to buy goods for the whole team in bulk and share the savings between everyone, usually about 20-30% off each item. That means happy, well-nourished families at home, and employees on our team with a little more peace of mind.
